Cherry Ice Cream

Since its cherry season, my brother in-law Yuriy got us a big box of cherries directly from a local farm.  Of course, my kids and I decided to make some cherry ice cream. Who doesn't love ice cream on a hot summer day? This recipe is very simple but delicious at the same time.  My homemade version of cherry ice cream is made with cream, condensed milk, cherries, cherry juice and chunks of dark chocolate. !!!

“Day and Night” Cake- торт “День и Hочь”

This moist and rich cake is called "Day and Night" cake as it consists of a vanilla (white) layer and a chocolate (black) layer.  My mom used to make this cake a lot when we were little. One of our family favorites. It brings lots of my childhood memories. Very moist and easy to make cake.

Easy Tiramisu Cake

Tiramisu – An Italian classic cake. Moist sponge cake/ladyfingers soaked with dark coffee/rum syrup filled with mascarpone cheese filling sprinkled with cocoa powder!!!
There are many variations of making "tiramisu"... Different flavorings can be used; coffee flavor is replaced with all sorts of other flavors. I’ve seen pumpkin tiramisu, the raspberry tiramisu, the mango, and so on... sponge cakes often used instead of biscuits (ladyfingers), etc.... Lots and lots of variations.

I prefer the simpler version…. I wanted to make a tiramisu "cake"; I whipped my cream to a slightly stiffer consistency...so that it would hold its shape when cutting slices.
I used springform pan (8-9 inches) and made a triple layer tiramisu. You can certainly use any pan you like...or simply use a glass tumbler/footed glassware....
Hope you enjoy!!!

Shrimp Chow Mein with Vegetables

Chow Mein is a traditional Chinese dish that consists of noodles stir-fried with meat & vegetables.  Various different combinations of vegetables, meat, and sauces can be added to your Chow Mein. Feel free to substitute Italian fettuccine or linguini if Chinese egg noodles aren't available. I always have fun of making Chow Mein noodles at home and my family loves it!
